The Problem
Visitors could not find answers that already existed somewhere on the site or in its documents, so they emailed instead. The same questions arrived every week and took up time that should have gone to real customer work.
What We Did
- Collected and cleaned the source content: site pages, PDFs and FAQs.
- Built a retrieval-augmented chatbot on GPT-5 that answers only from that content and shows the sources it used.
- Added guardrails so it says when it does not know, and a handoff so complex questions reach a person with the full conversation.
- Delivered ahead of schedule, with a simple process for keeping the knowledge base current.

Growing an education publisher past a million pageviews
